Transformation and Emergence :
Challenges of Execution : Dakar 21st and 22nd of June 2018

After the success of the second edition held in Casablanca on September 29th 2017, with 300 participants and 30 international speakers including Dr. Mo Ibrahim, Melissa Fleming, Ismail Ahmed, and Moulay Hafid Elalamy, Africa Convergence Conference (www.africaconvergence.com) opens its third chapter with a major milestone in Dakar on June 21, 2018 at the Dakar Pullman Teranga Hotel under the theme: «Attractiveness, Transformation & Emergence: the winning trio for strategic execution »
Strategic execution: a misunderstood and often unpopular topic
Less « noble » in the collective unconscious than the preceding phase of strategy development, execution is now the prevailing topic in Africa, being the next vital step to achieve emergence.
As the expert Christophe Mauboussin put it, in a thought-provoking nutshell: « This exercise of style, crucial to company performance, depends on the pro-activeness of the players involved, changes in the organization, and also a timeframe, as it is a process that unfolds with time. Execution is therefore much more difficult to carry out than design.»
Transforming organizations, mastering space and time
Successfully carrying out strategies requires the alignment of interests between designers, implementers and stakeholders in order to overcome resistance while simultaneously transforming organizations and mastering both space and time. In this context, four complementary forces are at work: the technological revolution, management sciences, the new paradigms of training, and adaptability. Facing these forces head on, transversal movements impact them at all levels: capital mobilization, climate change, regulatory frameworks, attractiveness, pressure from public opinion, or furthermore good governance. In these conditions, the will to move forward rapidly is often hampered by the daunting resistance capabilities of techno structures, whether private or public.
During this exceptional two days gathering, La Tribune Afrique is bringing together thirty leading speakers who will open the debate on the challenges of strategic execution and discuss ways to remove constraints and barriers while shaping organizations. The four plenary sessions will be marked by keynote speeches given by high-level international speakers.
