A philanthropist and an entrepreneur, Dr Mo Ibrahim is one of the most influential figures if Africa. His foundation (http://mo.ibrahim.foundation/ ) is dedicated to the promotion of good governance in Africa, and releases each year the governance index. Prior to his commitment with his foundation, Mo Ibrahim founded and developed telecom pan African company Celltell. He is currently chairman of the board of private equity firm Satya/TPG. Dr Ibrahim earned a Bachelor of Science from Alexandria University in Electrical Engineering. He returned to Sudan and started working for the telephone company, Sudan Telecom. He also earned a master’s degree from the University of Bradford in Electronics and Electrical Engineering, and a PhD from the University of Birmingham in Mobile Communications.
